WHO ARE YOU?
As I’m sure you’ve gathered from the crawler on my home page, I’m Erin! A copywriter, creative strategist, and marketing project manager with agency and in-house experience, most famously at&#38;nbsp;[adult swim], and most recently at Fancy Sprinkles. I’m also a voice and background acting hobbyist and a fiction / creative nonfiction unpublished writer who’s finally started writing again. &#38;nbsp;
WHAT DO YOU DO?I do a lot! I specialize in creative strategy and copywriting, but none of that would be possible without my sick project management skills. For a quick list, though:&#38;nbsp;Write copy for social, scripts, email, and decks—everything best expressed in the brand voiceDevelop the strategy, positioning, deck, and pitch—everything in the sales process, minus the selling partManage client contracts, production, timeline, post date, air date, budgets—everything that makes it comes to lifeI’ve pitched, developed, and managed projects for linear, mobile games, digital, social, experiential, and any combination thereof. A couple of them have been global campaigns. Many of them have won fancy advertising awards.&#38;nbsp;

On the agency side, I’ve written ad copy, wild-posting slogans, website content, and sales materials for a music festival, an alcohol brand, a luxury travel service, and a manfucaturing company.&#38;nbsp;

SummaryAs part of Momentum Textiles &#38;amp; Wallcoverings continued artist collection series, I was contracted to draft product copy for their latest collaboration with Yinka Ilori, a British-Nigerian multimedia artist. His bold, bright patterns demanded equally bold product descriptions that supported the name and design ethos! of the collection: Color You Can Feel.

My ApproachI began as I am wont to do by absorbing as much information as I could: reading past design brochures and existing web copy and giving myself a crash course on color theory. If these designs are all about feeling color, the copy needs to back up that claim, amirite?&#38;nbsp;
As this was my first time working with these partners, I intentionally drafted and delivered multiple alts to make the creative review process more productive. If they had multiple options to look at, we could more quickly hone in on the tone and creative direction. That approach paid off! The first round of feedback was minimal, and from there, we added additional deliverables (product copy, artist biography, event invitation, and more).&#38;nbsp;But the real star of the show, as far as my contributions go, is the digital brochure. Summary
Country Fest is one of the longest standing and most beloved country music festivals in these United States. Their attendees start planning next year’s festival the second they get home, it’s that kind of thing. The name Country Fest, while explicit, didn’t fully evoke the spirit of everything the “largest party in a cornfield” had to offer. So, they enlisted Loughran &#38;amp; Co (now Quartermaster) to rebrand the Cadott, Wisconsin, country music festival as Hoof Beat. &#38;nbsp;

My ApproachAfter settling on a shiny new name, they needed a brand framework, which is where I came in. The client’s feedback throughout the pitch process gave me a solid picture of how they viewed their festival, how their fans viewed their festival, how their festival was positioned, and how those three perspectives overlapped, or needed to overlap. 
I then looked to their social content. With a brand this established, there’s already so much in place that all I needed to do was boil it down the basics of what I saw. This distillation process turned into the brand postioning statement. It’s proprietary, so I can’t share it verbatim, but it talks a lot about boots, hayfields, and the can’t-miss-this-ness of the weekend.&#38;nbsp;
On the visual side, I worked closely with the designers to name brand colors and provide slogans and catch phrases for poster mocks. And under the guidance of my creative director, I followed the brand positioning statement with messaging pillars, tone of voice, and audience personas. All in service of the new moniker: Hoof Beat Country Fest.&#38;nbsp;Sampling of the Final CreativeThe new name was announced during the 2024 festival to much fanfare (aka a drone show spelling out my 10/10 catchphrase: Wild, Wild, Wisco) and mixed reviews from a lot of booze-fueled hayfielders. We get it, change can be scary! But it’s all for the good of the party.&#38;nbsp;

Summary
Loughran &#38;amp; Co worked with Australian manufacturing brand Vergola (vur-GO-luh // like pergola + veranda) to develop new print and display ads as part of their expansion into the high-income LA market. As copywriter, I did what copywriters do: developed slogans/taglines that captured what this product is, and at the same time, enticed potential buyers to click/call. 

My ApproachI poured over the brand’s existing suite of ads and sales collateral, discovering that it was somehow both cumbersome AND vague. The copy in print focused heavily on product features, leaned on industry-jargon, and the company’s longstanding (and respectable!) history, but it fell short of explaining what it is or why a buyer might benefit. &#38;nbsp;What is a louver? Who cares if it’s motorized? 
To make this brand and its product feel more luxury / less Home Depot and better appeal to its high-income target demo, I reduced the clutter and boiled it down to a few phrases that captured the essence of what the former ads were trying to convey (Vergola is a high-end flexible shade structure), and instead positioned it as a year-round lifestyle.&#38;nbsp;Our designers took my words and made them look impressive for a series of ad creative and brochures, resulting in a happy client and a face of the brand new enough for Hollywood. &#38;nbsp;Final Creative
